Money360 wishes every one of you a happy Thanksgiving. For my international readers who might be unfamiliar with this American tradition, Thanksgiving is an annual celebration of the harvest and of cultural diversity in America. It is typically celebrated by having a large communal meal with family and friends, and is considered a time to reflect on the things that we are thankful for in our lives.
I am thankful for the love of my wife and of my extended family, who I will be sitting down to eat with multiple times in the next few days.
I am thankful that two small girls, who I have come to admire greatly in the last few months and have gone through a great deal of tragedy in their young lives, have found a home that they can be safe and happy in. I hope to see their smiles sometime in the next few days.
I am thankful for the continued health of Im, a young boy in Indonesia who we have been sponsoring for a while. Our money has helped give him proper immunization, provided some food for his family, and has also helped to build a school in his town which he will begin attending shortly. His mother writes us regularly, telling us wonderful yet somehow sad stories about the young boy. We are planning on visiting his town in a few years.
But above all, I am thankful for the continued blessing that is my son. He explores the world with an innate curiosity and humor that brings joy into my life every day.
May you think about the things that you are thankful for in your own life today.
